Every year Electronics Weekly organizes a big event called the ‘Elektra Awards’ which is known as one of the industry’s most respected European awards. Here the achievements of individuals and companies are celebrated and the best-practice in 21 key areas rewarded, ranging from distributor of the year, finest consumer product to the environmental award.
This special event took place at the Lancaster Hotel in London, UK on 26th of November 2014 and is considered to be one of top promotional platforms to celebrate achievements across the entire European Electronics market. It showcases the finest new products, technology innovation and company performances of the year and was attended by around 400 participants from various industry areas.
Omron Electronic Components Europe was represented by Chris O`Neill – North Regional Sales Manager, Andries de Bruin – European Product Marketing Manager for Electromechanical Components and Gabriel Sikorjak, European Product Marketing Manager for Sensors.
Omron Electronic Components Europe entered the Human Vision Component Module and was short listed under Product Technologies in the category “Internet of Things Product Innovation Award”. The independent jury, represented by respected persons with long experience in the business, had the tough task to select which product best demonstrates the technical capabilities and usefulness of the internet-of-things like wireless communications, security, storage or user applications.
We are proud to announce that the HVC module was selected as an Elektra 2014 winner. It is very encouraging to see that this new technology has been recognised by experts and confirmed expectations of technical capabilities and usefulness for the “IoT” segment. Developers can easily access OKAO functionalities without the need of understanding the complexities of the software design. OCB-EU would like to congratulate our development team for the design of this highly innovative module.
When the winners are announced a representative from each Company is invited on stage to receive the award. In the photograph you can see Chris and Gabriel collecting the award on behalf of Omron.
